Michael’s Story
Michael was born in Malta and moved to the UK at the age of 10. A big change from living in his parents’ family guest house business by the sea, to living in 2 rooms at the top of a guest house in London. His family’s journey was not straight forward but his parents ensured he and his brother never forgot their Maltese roots.
Michael is happily married to Mari and are proud of their two boys aged 26 and 20. He loves nothing more than regularly travelling back to Malta to enjoy his rooftop terrace views in their property. Whilst he follows football, you will regularly see him on the rugby touchlines watching Saracens.
Michael is the Managing Director of mc square marketing, a marketing agency he established in 2004, to help businesses stand out from their competition through creative marketing ideas that deliver results. His team’s experience in hospitality marketing, as well as other fields, has helped them achieve success for both their clients and themselves, including winning the National Fish & Chips Award for Marketing Innovation with Poppies Fish & Chips Restaurants. Michael previously worked in Marks & Spencer for 20 years and last position was Head of International Marketing for the Franchise Group.
His other passion is getting results from building strong business relationships with people and has been a fully active member in BNI for 15 years, 9 years of these also as a Director Consultant. He is also a member of the BNI Director Training team delivering business development skills workshop across London and Malta. He loves nothing more than sharing his experience, knowledge and success stories of referral marketing activities and seeing his delegates absorb the content and ready to put it into practice. His ethos is Givers GIVE GIVE GIVE GIVE!
He engaged with Asentiv when he travelled to California to get a full understanding of the amazing programme on offer and was accredited as an Associate Trainer. Having immersed himself into the programme with the founders of the business, he came back “buzzing” with the huge learnings and potential to help others, as well as applying this to his own business.

As an international speaker, he delivers conferences, business development workshops and seminars across the UK, Dublin, Singapore and Malta. His passion is helping business owners succeed through him sharing his knowledge, experience and learnings form other experts.
